Match the manual to the lift and the chair
The official manual list separates 600 Siena, 600 Starla and 600 Sofia/Solus. Keep any original paperwork or service record with your enquiry. If you inherited the lift with the house, a safely accessible label and a photo of the chair are a useful starting point.
There is no need to remove a panel to find information for us. If the label is awkward to reach, tell us what you can see and let the identification be checked during assessment.
- A model number as well as the chair name, where known.
- Any existing service record and approximate installation date.
- A clear description of the change you have noticed.
Optional features change the repair enquiry
The 600 Siena guide covers manual and automatic swivel options, and an optional retractable rail. It also describes a user display and separate remote calling controls. Those options should not be assumed to be identical on every 600.
Tell us whether the concern is travel, the seat turning at the landing, the rail end or a remote. A remote which is not responding and a chair which will not move are different observations; neither should be labelled a main battery failure without checking.
- Include any visible display message or light you have already noticed.
- Mention a retractable rail or powered swivel if fitted.
- Do not keep operating a lift that is behaving unexpectedly.
Discuss the job before deciding to replace the lift
Let us know whether you need a fault assessed, a routine service, removal of an unused lift or advice about replacement. These are separate decisions, and a model name is not enough to decide which is best.
We work on many brands of stairlift. For your 600, we will need to confirm the installed equipment and parts availability before agreeing a repair or service scope. Do not buy a replacement part solely because an online listing says “Stannah”.
A useful starting point
Tell us what you have, and what has changed.
We work on many stairlift brands. The exact model, installation and fault matter, so send a few details to confirm the options and any parts needed.
- The model name and serial number, if you can read the label safely.
- What happens when you try to use the lift, including any displayed code or sound.
- Your county, and whether you need a repair, service, removal or replacement.
If the lift is not working normally, avoid using it until you have advice. Do not bypass a safety device or open the lift to investigate.

Questions about the Stannah 600
Does a Siena chair always mean I have a Stannah 600?
No. Stannah also lists a 260 Siena manual in its curved stairlift range. Check the model number as well as the chair name, or send the available paperwork so the installation can be identified.
Are the remote-control batteries the same as the lift batteries?
No. The 600 Siena manual discusses batteries in the separate remote calling controls. That section should not be used to identify the carriage battery pack or decide which repair the lift needs.
Can I enquire about a Stannah 600 without knowing its age?
Yes. Start with the model details, chair photos and what has happened. Tell us if the age is unknown rather than guessing; we can confirm what further information is needed and whether we can assist.
