Which Curve configuration is in your home?
The Curve order form includes manual or powered swivel, lever-linked or powered footrest operation, and several ERGO seat choices. These are configuration choices, not separate repair pages and not features to assume on every lift.
If you are describing a seat or footrest problem, tell us what that feature normally does on your lift. A photo of the controls can be more helpful than trying to name the mechanism. Please do not dismantle the chair to identify it.
- The exact model and serial details, where safely accessible.
- Whether the swivel or footrest is powered on your installation.
- The original paperwork, especially for an older Curve.
The rail start and finish are part of the installation
Platinum’s Curve form provides several ways for the rail to start, finish and wrap around a landing. If the issue is near a parked position, an overview of that end of the rail gives useful context.
Do not assume a different parking arrangement or replacement rail will fit because another Curve looks similar in a photograph. Describe the current layout and any nearby doorway or passage, and leave compatibility to a proper assessment.
- Show the rail start and finish from a safe standing position.
- Say where the issue was first noticed, without repeating a faulty journey.
Discuss the options for the lift you actually have
You may be looking for a fault assessment, a service, removal or a replacement because the household’s needs have changed. Make that clear in the enquiry so we can discuss the appropriate work.
We work on many stairlift brands, but a Platinum name is not a promise that every version or part is supported. Send the details so we can confirm the work and parts available for your particular installation.
A useful starting point
Tell us what you have, and what has changed.
We work on many stairlift brands. The exact model, installation and fault matter, so send a few details to confirm the options and any parts needed.
- The model name and serial number, if you can read the label safely.
- What happens when you try to use the lift, including any displayed code or sound.
- Your county, and whether you need a repair, service, removal or replacement.
If the lift is not working normally, avoid using it until you have advice. Do not bypass a safety device or open the lift to investigate.

Questions about the Platinum Curve
Is an older Platinum Curve identical to today’s ergo Curve?
Do not assume identical hardware or interchangeable parts. Platinum’s current range uses ergo Curve, while its official order information also names Platinum Curve. The exact lift, fitted options and parts must be checked.
Does every Platinum Curve have a powered swivel?
No such assumption should be made. The official Curve order form lists manual and powered swivel choices. Tell us which is fitted, or send a photo and the available paperwork if you are unsure.
Can a used Platinum Curve be moved to another house?
That needs an assessment rather than a yes based on the model name. The existing rail arrangement, the new stairs, condition and compatibility all matter. Get in touch before buying or moving the lift.
